What's Up
This is crazy birthday month! My oldest sister's birthday is the 12th and then mine and my twins' is the 19th. (And my friend Karen's was the fourth.) I want to make something for my sisters. I have plans, but I still need to actually *do* them. I really hope I get them done in time.
We'll see.
Oh, um, my subscription is running out ... around the time of my birthday... *cougcough* *hinthint*

I've been taking a look to your gallery and i'm AMAZED!! Your artisan crafts are just awesome; I don't comment and fave all the things I like cause I'd never finish

I keep mine in a plastic Kritter Keeper that's about 6 in. wide, 10.5 in. long, and 8 in. tall. I think it's called the "large" size. I like it because it has a lid that's ventilated, easy to take off, and has a clear plastic viewer right in the middle. I feed them whatever greens I have leftover, like lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and broccoli. I also give them a cuttle bone for calcium supply. I spray them every morning and night with distilled water so they don't get too dry. I've heard that if you use a glass container they won't dry out as much. I've been meaning to transfer them over to a glass container, but haven't got it set up yet. Oh, another thing about the container: I put about an 1.5 in. layer of rocks and marbles at the bottom so that there's a drainage system. I think this helps keep the soil moist but not soaking. For soil I just used the dirt from my yard, since that's where I got my snails. I managed to put in some earthworms for good measure.
I also give them something called "cricket quencher," which is a gel people use for their cricket collections. It's a water substitute. The gel form eliminates the problems that come with standing water, like drowning and bacteria. I used to give them just a dish of water which they really seemed to enjoy, but ... bad things happened. The cricket quencher I have is also calcium fortified, so I think it's pretty perfect for snails.
Here's a pretty good description of what they need: [link]
The garlic snails, which are smaller and blue-skinned, are somewhat carnivorous so I feed them cat treats. ^_^
I hope this helps! Let me know how your snail-keeping goes!

Yes mine is one some driftwood type stuff. I like it, but I really like how yours just hangs too. Mine is in another kind of shell glued to the wood and then another little plant resides near the end of the wood, not in a shell.
