My contribution to the gift the beloved ~Tunza is going to give to Johnny Clegg (fantastic South African musician—check out his website: [link]). I love purple; can you tell?
I had to do this quickly, so I just went with the rough style.

Here is what I would say to Johnny Clegg/the band:
I’m an American but I lived the first three years of my life in Africa and that is where my parents first discovered your music. I grew up with it playing in the house every morning while my dad made breakfast. When I was in my teens I started my own collection of your albums. In college I listened to One Life nonstop to give me the courage to face my laughing classmates when I presented my project on world peace.
Your wonderful music reminds me that I am a world citizen, gives me the comfort of connection when isolation oppresses me. Thank you. And thank you for being an example for me as an artist.
